Wilderness First Aid Class

Description: The US Forest Service will be putting on a 3-day CPR/AED/Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) & Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course, October 29-31. All three days of training will be held at the New Mexico Bureau of Geology & Mineral Resources in Socorro. This will be a full 3 days of class plus outside hands-on exercises. Certification will be granted by the American Health and Safety Institute upon successful completion. CPR/AED/WFA certification will be valid for two years, blood borne pathogens for one.
There is no fee for the course, and space is limited to 20 participants. Priority will be given to current paid NMVFO members and/or active volunteers (participating in at least one project this season). Early registration for NMVFO members/volunteers will end October 1. Any remaining seats will be opened up to other active US Forest Service volunteer partners (BCH, FOSM, NM Wild, NM SAR, etc.).
