Public land agencies that are interested in proposing a project should contact our Projects Team (projects@nmvfo.org) for more information and our easy-to-complete project proposal form.

  • Lower Osha ADD-ON (Mountainair RD)

    Four volunteers cleared lower Osha trail on the west side of the Manzanos up to the point that NMVFO worked down to from the top last year.

  • Pecos River Cleanup

    We team up with The Upper Pecos Watershed Association, removing litter along the Pecos River north of Pecos, part of the Dia del Rio y Camino.

  • Galisteo Basin Preserve

    Remove barbed wire fence with Commonweal Conservancy to help free up wildlife corridors

  • Jerky Mountains Backpack (Gila NF)

    Horse supported. Clearing remote trails in the Gila Wilderness with the Back Country Horsemen, Gila Chapter. Weekdays.

  • Manzanos West Side (Cibola NF)

    Camp at the old JFK Campground and clear the lower section of Comanche and Trigo trails

  • Women’s Trail Day (CABQ Open Space)

    Trail building instruction and hands-on practice

  • Valle de Oro Cleanup (NWR)

    We will improve the refuge by clearing debris and removing invasive vegetation.
