NMVFO plans 20+ volunteer work projects each year. Click here for a printable overview of the current project season, and check back often for additional information posted as it becomes available. Public land agencies that are interested in proposing a project should contact our Projects Team (projects@nmvfo.org) for more information and our easy-to-complete project proposal form.

  • Capulin Trail Backpack (SFNF)

    We partner with Backcountry Horsemen to improve the Capulin Trail in
    the Santa Fe National Forest

  • Santa Ana Pueblo Environmental Fair

    Join us at the 24th annual Santa Ana Pueblo Environmental Fair, and meet people from other New Mexico outdoor groups

  • Limestone Canyon (Magdalena RD)

    We return to help restore wetland meadows in Limestone Canyon over Labor Day Weekend, with partner Albuquerque Wildlife Federation

  • Manzano Crest Lopping and Sawing (Mountainair RD)

    We will remove downfall and do touch-up lopping on the Kayser Mill Trail in the Manzano Mountains.  If time allows, we will continue the same work along the Manzano Crest Trail

  • Kaiser Mill ADD-ON (Mountainair RD)

    Six volunteers spent a full day working on the Kayser Mill Trail in the Manzano Mountains, focusing on lopping and clearing downfall

  • Ute Lake State Park CANCELED

    Install wooden steps and rock check dams and improve a nature trail at Ute Lake State Park in eastern NM

  • Arte Afuera (Valle de Oro NWR)

    NMVFO volunteers had a table at the Arte Afuera special event at Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge.
