RESULTS: Six NMVFO Volunteers improved tread on 3 miles of trail at Capulin Volcano National Monument
Description: Join us for a two day project at Capulin Volcano National Monument (near Raton). Capulin Volcano NM is a top-rated Dark Sky Park and our agency lead has offered to point out constellations for us. We will improve two trails: the Boca Trail (a two-mile loop) and the Lava Flow Trail (a one-mile loop). Work includes lopping, moving rocks, and widening trail in some sections. Sunday will be a half day of work.
Participants will be required to wear long sleeve shirts, closed toe shoes, and sturdy work gloves. Additionally, make sure to bring water, snacks, hat for sun protection, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.
We will camp Friday and Saturday night in a campground with toilets and showers. Food will be provided for Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast. Bring everything necessary for two nights of camping, and do not forget that camp chair.
