Trail Workshop – Outdoor Classroom (CABQ OS)

RESULTS: 10 volunteers took part in classroom learning followed by instruction at the work site and 15 minutes of practice
Description: Come learn some trail-building basics at Tijeras Open Space. We’ll meet at CABQ Open Space’s newly-acquired Tijeras Education Building at 10:00AM to begin an hour or more of book learning, followed by an instructional walkthru on a nearby trail and some hands-on practice. Tools will be supplied.
This 101 course will provide an important base of knowledge for anyone who also plans to join our hands-on trail-building field training workshop the following day, Saturday March 12th. New volunteers are encouraged to join us for either or both of these March workshops. Anyone who would like a skills refresher is welcome too!
Please bring your own work gloves. Also required: long pants, sturdy boots or shoes, and eye protection (sunglasses). Highly recommended: layered clothing for a chilly start and a warm afternoon; a hat; a day pack with water and snacks; pen and notebook. We will follow any pandemic protocols in effect in March.
