Description: Join us for some needed maintenance on the Six Mile Canyon Trail in the Magdalena Mountains West of Socorro. We will focus on clearing downed trees and cutting back overgrowth that is obscuring the tread of the trail, starting where we left off last year. The work will require several miles of hiking at altitude. For this reason, we will rate this project as difficult.

We will meet 8AM Saturday at the Water Canyon Campground which is approximately a 90 minute drive from the south side of Albuquerque, and then carpool up.

We have reserved the group site at the campground on Friday, for those of you who want to camp the night before, but meals will NOT be provided, so bring your own dinner and breakfast please.

There will be a limit of 20 people on this project. Participants should wear sturdy boots or work shoes, long pants, eye protection, gloves, and bring gear for rain. Please note that pets are not allowed on this project.

Difficulty: HARD

Please read our Volunteer Guidelines before signing up for this project. On the signup form please leave the "Number of Volunteers" at 1. If you would like to sign up additional volunteers please submit multiple signups.
