Contact Leader(s): Jenny Blackmore, j.blackmore@nmvfo.org with any questions.

RESULTS: 13 volunteers camped at Panchuela Admin Area and cleared downed trees from all of Cave Creek Trail and 0.6 miles of Skyline Trail. We also built a rock crossing across Panchuela Creek, and lopped and fixed drains.

Description: Come join us at the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Preserve, on the outskirts of Santa Fe, as we take care of some trail maintenance and reroute an existing trail. Drain-drip building will feature prominently. On Saturday evening we’ll have the rare opportunity to camp on the property (a short walk from parking), where we’ll have access to their new pavilion with bathrooms and running water. We will each be responsible for all our own meals (lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday). We will probably have an opportunity for a guided tour of the historic Randall Davey house. He was an artist, and this place is a gem!

Required: boots, work gloves, long pants, eye protection (sunglasses). Please also bring a daypack for lunch, sunblock, rain jacket (if needed) and plenty of water. Tools and training will be provided. There is a small microwave in the pavilion, and NMVFO will provide a camp stove, but feel free to bring your own. A camp chair will also come in handy, along with the “usual” camping gear (plate, utensils, mug, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, headlamp, etc). It will probably be cold overnight.

Feel free to contact the project leader with any questions! 🙂
