Rabb Park Trail Backpack (Gila NF)

RESULTS: 13 volunteers with the support of the Gila Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen, improved 3.25 miles of the Rabb Park Trail, building 37 rock cairns, brushing back overgrowth, improving tread and drainage, and moving tons (literally) of rock.
Description: This spring NMVFO will partner with the Gila Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen on a 4-day backcountry project along Rabb Park Trail in the Gila National Forest, not far from Silver City. Tasks will include building cairns and brushing, along with some log removal and tread work. Volunteers will arrive the morning of March 31st, (meeting location still TBD), meeting between 8:45-9:00 AM for a gear check and some paperwork before hiking in approximately 3 miles to set up base camp. Breakfasts and dinners will be provided by the Back Country Horsemen. Volunteers are asked to bring their own lunches.
