Quemado Lake

July 1, 2016 - July 4, 2016

Contact Leader(s): Jim Scanlon, 505-385-0517, scanlon.jim@gmail.com with any questions.

What better way to wish our country a happy birthday than to lend a hand working on our public lands.  Join us at beautiful Quemado Lake as we improve the Largo Canyon and Sawmill Canyon Trails.  We’ll be defining trail tread, brushing and working to improve erosion and soil retention control.  We’ll begin July 1st and finish up on July 4th.

We have six tents sites reserved for us at the Piñon Campground which has tables, vault toilets and fire rings.  And if we’re lucky, we might even see bald eagles.  VFO will be supplying Thursday, Friday and Saturday dinner as well as breakfasts Thursday through Sunday.

To sign-up for the project and get more information please contact Jim Scanlon at scanlon.jim@gmail.com or 505-385-0517.  This project has a maximum of 12 volunteers.
