Description: Join NMVFO in scenic Placitas Open Space as we build a couple short reroutes, define a trail section through a series of arroyo channels, construct drain dips across an old road, and install a handful of signposts alongside staff from ABQ Open Space Division.

We’ll meet at the historic marker off the frontage road on the south side of NM 165 just east of I-25 (map), then caravan to the trailhead from there. The hike to the work site is approximately 1 mile. Please bring:

• Your own face mask and work gloves (required)
• Eye protection (sunglasses)
• A day pack with sunblock, lunch, snacks and plenty of water

Please wear long pants and sturdy boots. A hat with a brim is strongly recommended, and layers of clothing for a chilly morning and a warm afternoon. A reminder to please leave your pets at home! Any questions, please contact Jenny B.

Difficulty: 1 Pulaski

Group Size: 15

For more information: If this is your first NMVFO project, you can find more information about difficulty ratings and what to expect at https://nmvfo.org/volunteer/volunteer-faq, or email the project leader.
