Public land agencies that are interested in proposing a project should contact our Projects Team (projects@nmvfo.org) for more information and our easy-to-complete project proposal form.

North Crest Trail Backpack

Description: This is a beautiful time of year to be camping in the Sandias! We’ll be clearing a remote section of the Crest trail, which is grown over with brush. To access this piece, we’ll camp out for 2 nights, at 9200’ elevation. The hike in is 3.1 miles, with 800’ elevation loss. Backcountry Horsemen will pack in water for us. More details will be provided when the time gets closer. I hope you can join us!
Please bring: Volunteers will need to bring their own camping gear and meals. They will also need long pants, long-sleeve shirts, safety glasses (sunglasses), and gloves. Hard hats will be provided, and will need to be carried up.
