Contact Leader(s): Mike Timmer, 281-622-6858, m.timmer@nmvfo.org with any questions.
Description: Join us on a four-day backpacking project to clear downed trees and brush on the Hollinger Trail #219. We will meet at the Porvenir Campground and hike about 5.1 miles up the Porvenir Trail #247 to its junction with the Hollinger Trail to set up base camp. We will clear downed trees and brush and define tread as needed on the 2.1 mile length of the Hollinger Trail. If time allows, we will do similar work on the upper portion of the Porvenir Trail and the Bluebell Ridge Trail #212.
While the project starts on Thursday, August 4th, you are welcome to join us on Friday or Saturday and spend as much time working with us as you can. Please be sure to let us know your plans.
All tools will be provided. We will be using one- and two-person crosscut saws, pruning saws, loppers, and trail maintenance tools.
