Ghost Ranch (Carson NF)

Description: Join NMVFO for a unique dorm-camping volunteer project at Ghost Ranch! Ghost Ranch is allowing us to stay in dorm-style accommodations with multiple beds per room. Volunteers who prefer to camp are welcome to camp. Dinner and breakfast will be provided in the dining hall; volunteers should plan to bring their own trail lunches.

Participants may arrive Thursday evening. Trail work will take place Friday and Saturday, with a half day of work on Sunday.
Each workday will begin with a safety talk at 8:00 am. Work will typically conclude around 5:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, we will begin around 8:30 am and finish by noon.
This year’s project will focus on retaining wall construction on the Kitchen Mesa Trail, sign installation along the Chimney Rock and Kitchen Mesa Trails, and construction of drainage features as time allows.

Required gear: sturdy boots, work gloves, long sleeves, long pants, eye protection (sunglasses okay). Please also bring a day pack, snacks, trail lunches, sunblock, rain gear, and water bottles.

Group Size: up to 20. Please sign up by April 1.
