Canjilon Creek Restoration (Carson NF)

RESULTS: NMVFO worked on water control structures in the headwaters of Canjilon Creek with Chama Peak Land Alliance and Steve Vrooman of Keystone Restoration Ecology. The work serves to increase water flows and retention within the drainage system.
Description: NMVFO will partner with Chama Peak Land Alliance and Steve Vrooman at Keystone Restoration Ecology, with additional funding by NMED River Stewardship, to help restore a wetland area that feeds into Canjilon Creek, near Canjilon NM. The site is close to a road and can be accessed with a short hike.

Participants should wear sturdy boots or work shoes (no sandals), long pants, hat, eye protection, gloves, and your daypack should include water, a sack lunch, and gear for rain. Pets are not allowed on projects.
