Agua Piedra

June 24, 2016 - June 26, 2016

Join us under the tall pines of northern New Mexico for a weekend trail maintenance project.  We’ll improve existing trails by brushing (cutting back encroaching vegetation), clearing deadfall, decreasing erosion, improving the tread of trails and perhaps constructing a reroute or two.
We will camp at the Agua Piedra Campground in the Carson National Forest and work on a few trails in the area.

Contact Leader(s): Deborah Radcliffe, 505-255-4960, nmvfotrailworker@gmail.com with any questions.

Come for 1, 2 or 2 1/2 days, Friday, June 24 through noon on Sunday, June 26.

NMVFO will provide breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 24 through June 26 and supper on Friday and Saturday.  Volunteers will provide their own lunches.  Bring your own bowl, plate, cup and utensils.

Bring work clothes: long pants, long-sleeved shirts, sturdy boots, work gloves and hat.  Forest Service will provide hard hats.  Also bring a day pack, water bottles and sunscreen.  Be prepared for all kinds of weather with rain gear and clothing to layer.

Contact project leader Deborah Radcliffe, nmvfotrailworker@gmail.com, (505) 255-4960 to sign up or if you have questions.  Please sign up by 6/17/16 so that our project cook can prepare.
Agua Piedra Campground is on NM 518 between Sipapu and Tres Ritos.  More detailed directions are available from the project leader.
