SUMMARY:Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be kicking off the 2017 VFO project year. And forget Punxsutawney Phil and his shadow\, doing a VFO project guarantees an early spring. \nJoin us at the Sevilleta just 50 miles south of Albuquerque where we will be participating in a unique one day project in a remote section of the refuge. Instead of trail work\, we will be planting willows to improve habitat for the nesting of the willow flycatcher. That means we might get a little dirty\,but no pick mattocks\, rock bars or McLeods. We’ve done this project before and it’s a lot of fun plus we get to work in a seldom visited section of this huge refuge as well as being able to learn a lot from the staff and volunteers who work there. \nWe will set up a location for carpooling and volunteers will need to bring their own lunch and any snacks.
