SUMMARY:Bluewater Canyon (BLM Rio Puerco)
DESCRIPTION:Description: Bluewater Canyon [Google Map] is in a pretty canyon below the Bluewater dam just west of Grants. It has been designated as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern by the BLM. We will improve an existing trail by cutting back overgrowth and making other improvements as necessary. This is a flat trail and less that 3 miles round trip so we will rate this as an easy project\, however there will be several stream crossings that might require wading if the stream is high. \nWe will offer camping for Friday night in the large flat parking area – campers would be OK here\, but campers will need to provide their own food for dinner and breakfast. We will work from 8:00 to 5:00 on Saturday.  You could come for the day without camping.  There are no facilities so you will need to bring all your own water and food for the work days. \nParticipants should wear sturdy boots or work shoes (no sandals)\, long pants\, hat\, eye protection\, gloves\, and bring gear for rain. Pets are not allowed on projects. \nDifficulty:  \nGroup size: up to 20 \nPlease read our Volunteer Guidelines before signing up for this project.\nOn the signup form please leave the "Number of Volunteers" at 1. If you would like to sign up additional volunteers please submit multiple signups.
