SUMMARY: 6k feet to 8.1k feet, 5.8 miles

DESCRIPTION: Piedra Lisa trail is a special place and many enjoy the astounding beauty of the trail, hiking into this corner of the Sandia Wilderness. This entire trail extends from its southern trailhead near Juan Tabo Canyon to its northern trailhead near Placitas over Rincon Ridge.

GETTING THERE: South trailhead: Take NM 556 E (Tramway Blvd. N) to FR 333. Travel NE for 2 mi. until pavement ends. Continue N on FR 333D (dirt) to parking area just before a gate marked Private Road. This parking area no longer requires a parking pass.

CONDITIONS: There isn’t any water available along this trail and you will likely drink more than you think, so bring plenty.
